Building the platform at slice

Leading a 25+ member org across platform engineering, infrastructure, developer experience, core platform, and fraud/risk systems at slice Small Finance Bank.

Right now most of my focus is on platform adoption — making sure the infrastructure we’ve built over the past 18 months actually gets used by product teams the way it was designed to be used. The build phase is largely done. The adoption phase is harder.

Also spending significant time on org design — thinking about how the platform org evolves as the company scales from 300 to 500+ people in tech.

Questions I keep returning to

  • What does the transition from Director to Head of Engineering actually require?
  • How do you build platform adoption culture — not just adoption of specific tools?
  • What's the right model for Developer Experience in a regulated environment?
  • How do you keep engineering culture strong when the company is growing fast?

What I'm saying no to

Saying no is a strategy. These are things I’ve deliberately decided not to pursue right now.

Actively avoiding
  • Starting a podcast until I've built a consistent writing habit
  • Conferences and speaking engagements until I have a clear message
  • Side projects unrelated to the platform work or writing
